The International Puppet Festival is a unique event in Ireland. Held each September in DunLaoghaire the festival is one of the longest running arts festivals in the county.
Now in it’s 16th Year the festival has brought to DunLaoghaire in excess of 80 acclaimed international performers and promoted numerous indigenous puppet companies.

Performance Programme:
Your support helps the Festival continue it’s highly regarded performance series each September. Some of the worlds most acclaimed artists come to DunLaoghaire each year to perform for Families, Children Teenagers and Adults.
Collaborative Arts:
Working with Southside Community Partnership The festival has begun an exciting 4 year collaboration with four designated disadvantaged schools in the county. This project not only aims to help children to access the international performing arts but also to enable the students to become creators and critics while engaging with many different cultures.
Outreach Performances:
The Festival works in partnership with DunLoaghaire Rathdown Library service to present International performances for schools in Local Libraries, These performances are provided free of charge to allow as many children direct access to the festival.
Artist In Residence:
The Festival’s new Artist in Residence project aims to help a young and emerging puppetry artist gain the valuable experience of working within a major International Festival, This project aims to help the artist develop a particular strand of their work by engaging with the public through performance, workshops and special projects.
